Gold Jewelry Turns My Skin Black
Monday, March 17th, 2008What causes my gold jewelry to turn my skin black and how can I eliminate or minimized this problem?
The problem is not from the gold in the jewelry but from the corrosion of the metals that are used to color and increase the strength of the gold and those are silver, copper and nickel metals. There is no way out if your body reacts to these metal mixes, then the chances are your skin will turn black. However, if you can find jewelry that is 22 karat vs. 18 karat or lower your chances are less for your skin to turn black.
