Is Your Jewerly Insured?
Is your fine jewelry fully covered by your home owner’s or renter’s insurance policy? I ask this question to all my customers. The answer is almost always no. Unless you’ve purchased additional coverage on your home owner’s insurance policy you don’t have no way of recovering your lose in case of any thieft. So, it is best to check with your insurance agent and see if you are covered for your jewelry. Always request to get an appraisal on your purchase from your jeweler so you can insure your jewelry in the right amount, it could be that you bought it a deal, but still the jeweler must give you the actual value of the piece that you have purchased. Most home owner’s insurance policy will insure your jewelry against most kinds of losses.
