Make no mistake the diamond engagement ring is in full flower as a cultural imperative and will continue to grow. As the Echo Boom Generation reaches 31 by 2016 the engagement rings will become a major effect.

The Echo Boom is a term for children born roughly between 1982 and 1994. Children of this generation are called Echo Boomers, a reference to the fact that the generation falls between about 30 and 36 years after the Baby Boomer generation, and many Echo Boomers are the children of Baby Boomers. In this theory, the generation spans from, and immediately follows, the so-called MTV Generation and immediately precedes the Internet Generation. This generation is important because they are the last born to appreciate the changes of the digital revolution, and the rise of the internet and computer technology. Which means higher annual salaries and they will spend their money on quality engagement rings and the average size for the diamonds will be 1 carat and over.

This is true in every aspect of my life because I am a Baby Boomer and my girls are Echo Boomers. Their ages are 18 and 20 and I know they like the BIG ROCKS!

Are you in the same category as I? What do you have to say about all this?

Taking on Tarnish

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Rhodium plating is used to coat sterling silver thus preventing it from tarnishing; moreover, it is an anti-oxidant which  prolongs the tarnishing process. In my opinion all silver jewerly pieces should have rhodium finish, so it can give a gleaming appearance which virtually eliminates tarnishing.

In fact, it is safe to say that the turn to rhodium plating is a global trend. Rhodium-plated silver has long been accepted in Japan and is becoming increasingly common in Italy. It seems logical for it to catch on in America, too. Our sterling silver is plated in rhodium and it’s got a radiant look!

This contemporary 14K white gold and lemon quartz diamond ring features 0.65 carat total weight in SI clarity and G-H color in micro pave’ setting. It is enhanced with an unusual and unique kite shape cut lemon quartz gem stone featuring 3.42 carat in total weight.

The two rows of diamonds on the side of this ring give it comfort and an exquisite feeling; furthermore, it is made precisely to fit today’s busy women. The 14k gold alloy mixes perfectly with the gold which makes this ring even more durable to chlorine water so it will not turn yellowish.

The elegant look and the uniqueness of this ring invites you to carry on a conversation in the crowd. Why be boring when you have something people can talk about.
